This move should be contingent on how successful our Upper School IB program is over the next 5 years or so. It certainly is an area where we should be doing further investigation given the current trends in education.

I'd agree that we need IB to be established in US before we look at introducing it to other grades.
However, I believe that we need to examine the MS/LS curriculum and determine how it can lead into the IB program. In other words, support/introduce the concepts of IB in MS/LS.

In a recent count of known and possible IB students for next year, we expect to have between 12 and 18 full IB diploma students and and equal number of IB certificate students. According to Jim, this is a remarkable number for a school that will be in just the second year of IB. I think we will be at the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 proportion much sooner than the typical 5 to 6 years as other schools have experienced.

We could suggest that the IB curriculum reviewed during the curriculum mapping process. Not that it will be included automatically, but it could be reviewed to determine if it fits what we are currently teaching or what we would like to be teaching...if it fits the scope and sequence best fitting students' developmental readiness and the teaching methods we feel are appropriate to serve/ engage as many learning styles as possible.
