Role of Admissions (from the implementation points)

This is my write-up of the implementation points from the last meeting. Feel free to make changes!

Goal #?

To strengthen the role of admissions in selecting new Academy students to ensure that the best possible fit in the Academy community. The Academy is committed to seeing that students needs are met and that the student will be able to give back to the Academy community and flourish.

Rationale:

Admissions is the starting point for a student's Academy experience. Because of the school's enriched learning programs, admissions must ensure that incoming students will fit into the community well and be able to rise above their potential as they progress through Harrisburg Academy.

Implementation:

A. Continue to assess and enhance admissions process through identifying the range of abilities in prospective students and making sure that the range of the prospective student can be supported successfully. This will ensure that the student will be best placed within the school to support his or her needs.

B. Re-enrollment assessment and possible enhancement must be addressed in order to continue to support the student's best interests and capabilities.

C. Allow more communication to pass from parents and administrators to ensure that the student's needs are well met.
